Using the text Service out of hours

Patient is ill with an illness that cannot wait until their GP practice opens the next working day.

  1. From their mobile phone, the patient sends a short text message containing their name, the illness that concerns them, and if they are able to travel to the health centre.
  2. This text message is sent by the patient to the designated DDoc text number.
  3. DDoc replies to the text instructing the patient of the time and location of their GP Appointment.
  4. The triage nurse then informs the staff in the selected treatment centre of the expected arrival of a patient with hearing impairment.
